I moved in the Philippines 15 December 2017, married after 2 weeks day 29.. Then i start to search to provide a personal income to my family, and I realized that the world was deeply changed. I found my 2 longest work in life in Italy with the help of my personal network of friends or relatives. But restarting from scratch 10.000 km away from my Italy forced me to use my computer skills to try to be updated. I discover many online resources, I applied many suggestions to my CV. I started to help for free friends with the analog problems and they appreciated my help and my deep new knowledge. Working as freelancer home-based, i bid many times on many freelancer site. And also there was evident that more then 80% of the people trying to apply for a job have evidently zero chance to be considered. Too clear grammar errors, deep lack of respect and professional attitude starting letter with an unknown possible future employer with "Hi..." like if You are writing to a friend. Or list the long experiences in translations while applying as copywriter.
In the so-called GIG-economy with many temporary short works is like to write a CV and a Cover Letter for every single trial of to get a work.
I get a 10 months remote work being choose between 26 alternatives.
How I emerged? Is not luck. Is a long story of continuous improvement in showing my self in the best way to the employer.
Success is very rarely question of luck.
Success is when talent meet an opportunity.
Between 26 many competitors were very weak, grammatical errors, starting with too much informal approach saying "Hi" instead of DEAR SIR etc.
Some of my competitor evidently didn't read the request and bid for 5 or more euro per hour when the employer write clearly that 4 euro will be the salary.
I write that 4 euro is good for my situation, home based zero expenses, zero costs - it mean the employer read 3 facts. 1st i read the condition, 2 i accept the condition, 3 i have good reasons to accept the amount and be satisfied.
Is very rare that an employer find the perfect profile for a role,, so also if you are not perfect You have a chance.
Another doubt for a Bulgarian is that you have a weak connections. I prevent that doubt by explaining that i live 200 meters away from the Senate Buildings, with fast internet all cable to the computer and i have private silent room for work.
My situation and my skill were more, but they will never use my HTML skill to create a site, so i didn't mention any about that.
List only what is required, and if there's a weakness don't lie. If they found that you lie about a weakness You probably will be seen as NOT AFFORDABLE. Accept limits and ask help is acceptable, ignore troubles or hide troubles is absolutely one of the biggest mistake one can do.
